As the largest town in north west England, Bolton is only 12 miles from Manchester City Centre, 20 miles from Manchester airport; and direct access to major transport links, Bolton is strategically positioned providing easy access to the north's major studios, and convenience connections to the rest of the UK. Bolton Film Office is proud to continuously support productions of all scales.

Since 2020, Bolton has welcomed 95 productions and 370 days of filming; from student films, documentaries, and light entertainment, to high-end TV; featured on all the major broadcasters and platforms.

High-profile productions in recent years include It’s a Sin, Brassic, Top Gear, Alma’s Not Normal, Coronation Street, Cobra, Peaky Blinders, Years and Years, Ridley, Red Rose, Sherwood, Talamasca and A Gentleman in Moscow.
